The Hidden Operating System Behind Every Leader

Kamran Tork of shares lessons learned in leadership

I remember the ENRON SCANDAL VIVIDLY.

I was part of a strategic leadership program then and because of what happened at Enron (Xerox, Arthur Anderson, WorldCom, and others), I decided to leave the programme half way.It was particularly that similar ego dynamics were apparent in the programme.

Something crucial was missing in leadership development, and I was determined to find it.

25 YEARS LATER, I discovered what was missing:

OUR INNER OPERATING SYSTEM.

Here's what most leadership programs still don't address enough
:

70-75% of leaders operate from DEFAULT MIND (DM).

This is where Enron-like mishaps become possible. External pressures, validation, and success metrics drive decisions instead of higher values.

Then there's INTENTIONAL MIND (IM).where purpose and clear inner compass guides choices and actions, making us less susceptible to ethical compromises.

The highest level? What I call NO-MIND INTELLIGENCE. This is when wisdom beyond thoughts becomes operational, connecting us to something greater than our limited self.

Think the leadership of GANDHI, MANDELA, KING, leaders who tapped into this source and let its insights become their guiding principles.

The outcome? Completely ENRON PROOF.

Your inner game (operating system) ALWAYS drives your OUTER GAME.

This is why inner leadership transformation and outer leadership training must go hand in hand.

Leadership is both Consciousness and Capability.

Otherwise?

Right tools (MBA, CMA, CA, CGA) in wrong hands (Default Mind) = wrong results (Enron).

These organizations did not have shortage of capabilities, they were short on Consciousness bit.

What's your leadership operating system running on today?
