Majid Al Futtaim Group Recognised for Empowering Emirati Talent

Abdulrahman Al Awar meets UAE citizens working in Majid Al Futtaim

His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, met with a group of UAE citizens working at Majid Al Futtaim Group during a recent visit to the company.

Accompanied by Ministry officials, His Excellency attended a ceremony held by the Group to celebrate their significant achievement in Emiratisation. The event was attended by Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO at Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Mariam Majid Al Futtaim, shareholder at the Group and representative of the company’s shareholders.

“The private sector continues to demonstrate its commitment to Emiratisation policies and its unprecedented dedication to its responsibility towards this vital national project,” Al Awar said. “This partnership with the government to recruit and train UAE citizens has enabled more than 120,000 Emirati men and women to be employed across various economic sectors, working for over 23,000 companies that are now seeing the remarkable success stories written by highly capable and efficient national talents.”

HE the Minister went on to highlight that Majid Al Futtaim Group’s Emiratisation efforts reflect its deep sense of social responsibility, praising the company’s commitment to supporting government policies aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of UAE citizens and expanding their active participation in the labour market.

Moreover, Al Awar commended the outstanding contributions of Emirati employees at the Group, asserting that the UAE’s wise leadership closely monitors Emiratisation efforts in the private sector, continuously issuing directives to empower citizens, support them, and ensure their job stability. Emirati professionals enjoy notable support from the Nafis programme, His Excellency continued, noting that efforts are constantly underway to establish an attractive and innovation-friendly work environment, and offer a range of benefits to companies that actively engage with Emiratisation policies in the private sector.

For his part, Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO and member of the Board of Directors at Majid Al Futtaim Holding, reiterated the company’s dedication to implementing the UAE leadership’s vision, advancing Emiratisation efforts, and setting strategic plans to offer promising job opportunities for Emirati citizens.

He highlighted the effectiveness of the partnership with the Nafis programme, noting that the company’s Emiratisation rate increased from 3% in 2021 to the current 13.7%.
